I have never had to organise a funeral until we lost our dear Mum in September 2020, we were understandably heartbroken and also feeling very ‘lost’ and it was a shock to realise that in the midst of our grief and sorrow, we needed to organise everything almost immediately. We don’t live locally where Mum was in a care home, so we weren’t aware of any services in the area. In our unconsolable state, we contacted Scott at A R Adams and to this day, I am so grateful for that decision. Scott and his wonderful team were utterly professional at all times but also immensely friendly, personable, comforting, understanding and willing to guide and help us through every step of the way. Nothing was too much trouble, even though Scott must answer the same questions for everyone, all the time, you wouldn’t have known it by his care, consideration and patience he always showed. Scott and his team were willing to ‘go the extra mile’ to make Mum’s farewell very personal to her and us as a family. I really don’t know how I would have coped without Scott’s gentle assistance throughout the process and his expert knowledge and advice on so many matters. So much so, that when we lost Dad less than a year afterwards, Scott and the team at A R Adams were there for us yet again to ‘hold our hands’ through the sad process, making the difficult time more bearable by supporting us through every stage. We used A.R. Adams (Funeral Directors) for my dad’s funeral which was last Tuesday 31st Aug. My family were so overwhelmed by the way they handled everything always keeping us informed as to what was going on and what we needed to do. They helped us so much over this awful time keeping things as stress free as possible for us. On the day of the funeral my mum who has problems with mobility and is not in best of health chose to stay in car at the cemetery as was all to much for her and the lovely gentlemen who carried the coffin and drove the limousines kept checking mum was ok and they stayed with her while she sat in car to give her courage and comfort. Would recommend them 100%, fantastic service on what is an awful experience that we all have to face one day but made so much easier with A.R. Adams.
