My partner has come home in tears after her haircut. My partner has quite short hair, and so normally always goes to the same salon. Due to her hairdresser being on holiday she decided to try Allertons. They have managed to completely mess up the cut, with one side of her long bob being 2 inches longer than the other. We went into the salon the next day to complain and ask for a refund, due to the obvious errors. They said they would like the opportunity to fix the mistake - but due to how poor the first cut was, my partner didn't want them going anywhere near her hair again. The stylist and receptionist we spoke to both openly acknowledged how obvious the mistake was, and said that they would speak to the salon manager to try and arrange a refund. A few hours later we got a call to say that no refund would be offered, and that my partner could have salon credit - as if she would ever go back in to use it. Avoid at all costs - bad haircut - badly dealt with customer service

Do NOT go here for a haircut, especially if you have short hair!!! It was a one off choice to go here as my normal hairdresser is away and due to the good reviews I thought it would be great. The hairstylist herself was lovely but she has absolutely ruined my hair. I have a short bob that needed trimming and the stylist here cut it completely and really noticeably lopsided, one side is at least 1 or 2 inches longer than the other (which I didn't realise upon leaving as she'd blow dried my hair under with a round brush). The layering is also completely off and different lengths, if it's not straightened one side doesn't sit flat as it's so bulky. I went to ask for a refund and was told the first instance policy is for them to fix the mistake. I explained that obviously I didn't trust them to touch it given the circumstances - I have very short hair already, that doesn't grow fast, and I'm getting married in 4 months so can't risk it being even more messed up to the point it's unfixable! The receptionist and stylist I spoke to were lovely. They acknowledged the very obvious mess that is my hair, said they understood why I wanted to get it fixed elsewhere and that they'd be in contact once they'd spoken to a manager. I got a phone call a few hours later to say the manager refused to authorise a refund as it 'wasn't their policy' and I had to accept the money on account to spend at Allertons, as if I had any desire to go back or buy any of their products! So I might as well have thrown £45 down the drain and now I have to pay even more to get it fixed! Honestly if I could give it no stars I would, so, so disappointed. Can't believe that any respectable business would refuse to give a customer a refund after providing such a terrible service.
