Where to begin with how happy we are with the service we received from Ballinger's Carpentry and Construction. Big smiles and thumbs up here! Our old deck which stretched along the length of the back of our house had been unusable and unsightly for a couple of years. We'd heard good things about Mark and his team from our neighbours. Mark was really responsive from the start, sending us a timely and reasonable quote, and answering any questions we had about the project. From the moment the team started work, we knew we'd made a great choice! The deck was rotten from the frame through to the decking boards. It was a big project and we'd been nervous about problems along the way. But our minds were put at rest completely once we saw the work get underway. From taking apart the deck and arranging disposal of the old wood to replacing the frame and meticulously crafting the new deck, the attention to detail was amazing. It was wonderful going outside at the end of every day to see the progress that had been made. We were so happy with the team's work that we asked Mark to build us a bench where we could sit in the morning sun with a coffee. I sent Mark the photo of what we had in mind and he knocked it up in a day! Amazing! We are absolutely thrilled with the new deck. It's a beautiful space and transforms the garden and house. Exceptional Service, Quality of Build and Value for Money - Highly Recommend. We began the design work in early 2018 and Ballinger's started the construction work in September 2018 - Mark Ballinger and his crew were incredibly helpful and informative throughout - all personable and pleasant to work with and finishing each job to a high standard. The work was finished in late Jan 2019. Our project involved redesigning a 3-bed house, literally stripping everything back and converting the loft space (giving 2 extra rooms) and redesigning the kitchen-diner space (including structural changes, RSJs etc.), rewiring the entire house and fitting a new kitchen and 3 new bathrooms, plumbing & new boiler installation plus many other jobs which I won't list here. Throughout the project there were many additional bits of work identified (c. 30 jobs) and Mark was more than happy to make suggestions, take on extra work and bring in additional sub-contractors where appropriate. He is clearly knowledgeable and is experienced with large capital projects, with a good eye for cost saving where appropriate. There were also many smaller items where Mark simply anticipated the issues and fixed them ahead of time, ensuring the full build was compliant with building control regulations. He also made sure all of the workers involved with the project were informed and working on the right days, keeping me apprised of everything that was going on at all times. I really can't recommend Mark Ballinger and his team enough - they've transformed the house we currently live in and at a reasonable price at that.
