Dan reassured us from that first conversation and we didn’t hesitate to put our faith in him. I bought a lovely 1960 Ercol plank table which needed restoration back to its original condition as the top was far too dark. Dan agreed to take on the challenge and restore. The table now looks beautiful , there was a very small split which Dan repaired and you cannot see the repair as it has been done so professionally. Although I only asked him to restore the top he also cleaned and polished the legs so they match as he wanted it to be perfect and stuck to his original quote, which for the excellent workmanship was extremely reasonable. We would definitely recommend Dan and the company.

He clearly loves what he does, and the care he put into the refurb was outstanding. The quality of his work is just outstanding. As a person, Dan and his Dad are outstanding. Our Danish design dining room furniture was looking very worn after nearly 50 years of family wear. The table was patchy and marked. The chairs were scuffed and had been reupholstered with material as the original cord had broken. However as it was Danish design and was so well made and the size fitted our house perfectly I decided I would like to see it restored to its original state and style. I contacted Dan as he was local, had good reviews and gave a very reasonable estimate as to the cost of restoring the table and the chairs. He stuck to the estimate even though stripping the chairs took much longer than he anticipated (apparently the person who had reupholstered the chairs had really gone to town with their staple gun and this took quite some time to undo ) The finished table and chairs look so good Thank you Dan. The chairs now need to have their danish cord seats restored to look their original best. Dan could not offer this service but I have located a craftswoman who can and look forward to seeing the final results. I would recommend Dan and his team for the excellent job they did in restoring the table and chairs. I have included a before and after of the table top to illustrate the improvement.

Dan did an great job of restoring a bureau, which was a wedding present for my grandma and grandpa from the 1930s. He did an excellent job and was a pleasure to deal with. Dan suggested that we lighten the colour of the stain, which was a really good idea.

We had 3 items of furniture restored/refurbished, a sideboard from the 1930s (we think) that belonged to my wife's grandmother; a bureau I inherited from my parents and a 1950s (we think) dresser that our daughter in law picked up from a second hand shop then had second thoughts about renovating. Dan was very helpful in offering advice and discussed different options for the work on each piece. The restored pieces look absolutely fantastic and I woud definitely recommend Browns to anyone looking to bring new life to old and tired furniture.
