I first found Computercare a few years back when I had damaged my laptop screen. I asked around to see if there was a groovy repair guy who was reliable and trustworthy. A friend told me about a local man who had tuned up his laptop for him and left him extremely happy. Thus I was given Richard's number. Now you have two options with Richard: He can come to you, which involves a call out charge (obviously, but it's very reasonable), or you can take said poorly pooter to him yourself. Since he's but a thirty minute drive away, and I only have old laptops to wrestle with, I always choose this option. Richard Lobsiger, for this is about the man himself can do anything. As I mentioned above, I first encountered him after the screen of my laptop got broken, but I've been back so many times because of his excellent knowledge, the way he gives good estimates, the way he WILL NOT proceed on any repair unless you authorise it, his trustworthiness (your data remains private and he's not going to go looking for your PayPal, ebay, or bank information), and the all round snuggly warm feeling that you are being taken care of by an all encompassing master of computerised things. Indeed, he's helped me resurrect machines that were just fried, yet contained precious nutritious data that was very important to me. At one time I was pretty good with computers, but as my illness, disability, pain, and the lack of concentration due to the medication to make my suffering a little more bearable, its become so much easier to just call Richard and beg "Please, for the love of all that's holy, please help me!" Then, (if I'm up to the drive, or my wife if not) we simply deliver the recalcitrant techno junk into his careful ministrations. There's not too much more to say. Richard is a straight up decent chap, will not rip you off, won't steal your precious things, and will keep that 2007 laptop working for you as long as he can. He's lovely. Took computer in to be repaired due to broken screen which was done promptly however a ‘tune up’ was also done without being asked. When returned to me the printers did not work. Took to a proper expert in their field who advised several things had been done which could only have been done while the computer was away from me which caused the issues and as a result a full reboot/ wipe had to be done meaning a weeks work lost and 3 days of getting everything back to where I needed taken up.
