We had a positive training session with Ewan today who was able to give us some helpful tips on loose lead walking and dealing with some anxious behaviours that our dog has been showing since our baby arrived earlier this year. Our dog is already walking much better on his lead after one session.

First of all I was very impressed with how quickly Ewan contacted me after my inquiry. We’ve just done an hour training to walk on a loose lead so I’m really looking forward to our next walk not being stressful. He showed me how to get Teddy to eat from his bowl without fuss and how to come downstairs on his own. The latter is going to take a couple more goes but I’m really looking forward to not having to carry him downstairs any more. I can’t recommend Ewan highly enough. He’s also very good at training humans too to get the best from their furry friends. Great guy.

Ewan has been a phenomenal help with my newly adopted toy poodle boy! Since bringing him home, it’s been anxiety inducing to walk him as he gets extremely hyperactive outside of the flat. This excessive excitement - jumping up and down, running around, etc. - begins before we’ve even set foot out of the door and after just a few minutes of Ewan showing me how to walk him, his behaviour immediately improved. Ewan explained that this walking method is particularly important as we need to establish that we are the pack leader, not the dog. I wasn’t surprised that Ewan was able to walk him with ease but was uncertain I’d be able to follow the method with the same results. However, Ewan’s technique was magic as my dog stayed obedient and aware the entire time! My boy also marks excessively but this barely occurred after Ewan took over. Afterward, Ewan showed me a fantastic feeding technique that would ensure my boy ate properly. I highly recommend Ewan and will most certainly be reaching out again for further training!

Like other reviews, on reflection, I should have read in more detail and around the technique of ‘alpha/pack leader’. Unfortunately our puppy did not adapt to these techniques in any way. I would like to think we are two very good listeners and adopted the techniques taught to us during the hour plus training session, but unfortunately these seemed to merely aggrevate our puppy after Ewan left. We noticed the following day puppy becoming quite agitated and distressed. Perhaps this technique is good for some dogs, but not in our case or experience. We also felt very pressured to provide a review and kept being messaged to do so. The communication following the training was also very patronising and unprofessional. Ewan spent a lot of time talking to us about other reviews and general talking. He then realised he’d ‘gone over’ his time and charged us more. At the time I said nothing and paid. On reflection, I should have said if less time was spent on talking and prompting us to make a review, perhaps we’d of had a better outcome with our puppy. Having read other reviews and responses of other customers, I fully expect some backlash for this review.

Our 8-months' old goldendoodle was driving us crazy during on-lead walks! Being an excitable and fun-loving pup, he'd pull in all directions, whether towards dogs, birds or any other distractions. This made it extremely difficult and unpleasant / stressful to walk him every day. As he now weighs 21kg, it was becoming a challenge to keep in control. We had a one-to-one training session yesterday afternoon with Ewan. Having read really positive reviews, we were eagerly anticipating what techniques he could share to help with our situation. We were not disappointed. We kept saying throughout the session that our minds were blown. We couldn't quite believe how quickly our pup started walking calmly by our side. There were lots of dogs around when we took him to the park and he was the calmest he's ever been. Ewan has a clear, consistent approach that he walks you through, making sure to explain the reasoning behind each technique to help us better understand why and how they work. After a demonstration, he gave us ample time to try these out ourselves and provided great feedback throughout. This was particularly useful as we really began to understand how slight changes in things like our body language and the way we hold the lead, etc. makes a huge difference. The real test was how we'd fare when Ewan was no longer there. Our first two walks started off a bit shaky as we needed to get more confident with the new techniques. As we got more comfortable during the walks, he was an absolute angel. Overall, we think this session may be a game-changer for training our puppy how to walk on-lead. We'd recommend a session with Ewan for any dog owners who are struggling with walking their dog(s). If the experience has become more stressful than enjoyable, it's definitely worth the money.
