I would highly recommend Dr Kalyan. I have suffered with disc trouble for many years and was recently very debilitated, every day and hour in pain. After epidural spinal injections with Dr Kalyan, I feel the most normal I have for years. I like that he spends time and makes sure you understand physiologically what is actually going on. He gives you constructive advice on how to move forward for damage limitation and preservation for future years. I would highly recommend him as brilliant consultant.

After suffering with back pain for many many years ( and with little help from the NHS) I finally decided that the only way to get any practical help was down the private healthcare route. After doing a lot of research my daughter came across Mr Raman Kalyan and what a ‘find’ he turned out to be. A consultation with him was quickly arranged and I soon realised that I was in the right hands. He made me feel very at ease with his personable character and keen sense of humour and ( after an examination) he explained what the problem appeared to be and quickly arranged for an MRI scan to be carried out (and later a CT scan and X-ray). These tests showed that there were very serious problems with my spine and Mr. Kalyan explained that the only solution was surgery. Being 76 years of age and having never even spent a night in hospital in my life this prospect filled me with dread, in fact I was terrified. But Mr. Kalyan fully discussed this with my daughter and myself and we realised that my prospects if I didn’t have the operation didn’t bear thinking about. So two months ago Mr. Kalyan performed decompression and discectomy surgery on my spine, an operation which, apparently was complicated and serious but I had every faith in my surgeon. I am now without the unbearable excruciating pain, I still have some pain (which I was told would be the case) but this is minimal and can be controlled with pain killers when necessary, but thanks to Mr. Kalyan I am now heading for a more normal life. I saw Mr Kalyan last week for a post op review and from discussion with him I realised that I now have to make certain lifestyle changes to protect my spine as much as possible. Of course there could be further problems in the future but at the age of 76 I realised that this would probably be the case. But for the time being I have my life back. I will be grateful to Mr. Kalyan for the rest of my life and thank God for the day my daughter found him. I live alone and my daughter lives hundreds of miles away and he even phoned her himself just after I came out of theatre to tell her I was ok which I thought was lovely. Finally Mr. Kalyan seems to have the ability to keep one going with his sense of humour, whilst still being respectful at the same time and appears to genuinely care deeply for the welfare of his patients If this review seems a bit fulsome it is 100% sincere and straight from the heart.
