We worked with EBBA on our 2 bedroom maisonette renovation in East London and we are beyond delighted with the transformation. Applying a great understanding of design, aesthetic and flow; Benni created our home most importantly around our lifestyle and personalities whilst allowing for day-to-day practicalities such as storage and budget, for example. Good design has the ability to adapt and evolve, and this is true of Benni and his high standards and expectations, not only of others but also of himself (highly refreshing). Benni has a keen eye for detail, reflected in the finer details of alignment through to his choice of materials (no stone is left unturned). His recommendations of contractors and craftsmen were brilliant. Being very approachable and available was also incredibly helpful, as we were always in contact, which made the whole process very reassuring, especially as first time renovators. In terms of design and aesthetic, all we can say is he delivered more than we ever envisaged. Without Benni we would have had neon orange stairs! Which brings me to 'restraint'. Benni has a great knack of pushing the boundaries but in a restrained and elegant manner. This has created a space that we not only just melt away in, but also enables us to be really creative and productive in. It’s calm, interactive and very 'us'. An important factor to us as we didn't want a dream house on paper that didn't fit our things and didn't really embody our personalities. We have a wonderful home now; it's all about the flow, the necessary features that simplify our lives and let us live and breathe the good things, not to mention bringing the outside-in. Throughout all stages from concept to build, he ensured everything was on point and wherever possible was even better than it needed to be; for example an approved table design evolved into something even more fabulous because Benni felt it could be better. What that really proved to us, was Benni's ongoing thought process, focus and dedication to our project. Trusting the Architect is key; and we learned soon enough that no matter how much we'd deliberate amongst ourselves that in the end, 'Benni was always right'. It's a process of course but a very nice journey to have been on with him. If we have another opportunity to work with him, we would. If you have an opportunity to work with Benni, you should. I worked with EBBA on the fit out of a small loft-style apartment. Benni took the time to understand what I needed from the space and I could not be happier with the end design. EBBA project managed the contractor aspects for me, which was a huge help, and maintained close communication throughout, even stepping in to advise on some aspects not directly within scope. Would highly recommend.
