So glad we found this little jewel! I was desperate to get away for a break now that things are relaxing with lockdown and we didn't feel too adventurous so we didn't travel far (from Wokingham). Esme's, and Esme herself, were even better than I'd hoped! The room, although not huge, had everything you could possibly need for a night or two away. The ensuite shower room has a walk-in shower that was the best! with quirky ceramic tiles on the floor. Big fluffy white towels and enough toiletries to suffice if you forget to pack anything, (including a pack of wet wipes which were a godsend for me!) There is even a first-aid pack which saved the day when I needed a plaster on a new blister. A Nespresso type coffee machine, a choice of tea, an array of biscuits and a (silent) fridge stocked with milk and water were impressive, but surpassed by a decanter of port and two small glasses which rounded off our meal out perfectly. As no more gueats were expected, we were able to lie-in and wander down the road for a late breakfast in a lovely coffee shop before returning in the afternoon to collect our bags and leave. Esme is charming, friendly and extremely helpful. I would love to return but, right now, there are limited things to do in Winchester! Highly recommended.
