Could not fault the service and quality. We took our 2 year old in for a cut. We have had difficulty before at other places as he was very nervous and cries/moves a lot. The barber at Essex Boys though was so calm and patient, even joining in with singing 'Old Macdonald' to help try and calm our son down. We didn't feel rushed to calm our boy down and the barber was so understanding. Highly recommend to anyone nervous about their child's first few haircuts.

Not to sound like a jobsworth, but this is our first and last time here. I showed the barber a picture of what I wanted and specifically said do not take anything off top I just wanted the sides cut and faded. It started off okay but then he began chopping into my sons hair which had taken 6 months to grow and be able to put into a bun. We now have approximately 2 inches of length left on top and this just isn't what we asked for. The manager kindly offered a refund (which I declined) and tried to manage the situation as best as he could but there isn't anything that can fix this apart from time. Edit: changed rating from one to two stars as I appreciate the owners taking the time to reply.

Awful, ask for 2 sides and back and I show him with my fingers how much I want taken off. Proceeds to cut 3 quarters of my hair off. Also when he begun cutting he brushed my hair to the right and accidentally took a chunk out leaving the front of my head looking like a triangle. Then takes knob photos of me. Please don’t come here
