This is the sixth alarm system that we've had installed from four different companies (due to moving to new areas) over the last 20 years. This is the most professional company that we've dealt with by far. You can tell that they are an owner-managed company that care about what they do and they were very clear on the options, how we could do things and then they just made it happen: no fuss, no hassle and no changes. The team that came for the two day install, were excellent. Very polite, very professional and I was able to work from home with almost no interruption. When they came across an issue (it's an old house with, existing system wiring) they told me and then told how they were going to deal with it. Very highly recommended. Thanks guys - an excellent job.

I have been a domestic customer of Fortress Alarms since 2002 and am only posting a review now because I was disturbed to see the mixed ratings on Google that seem bear no resemblance to the quality of the business. I believe Fortress Alarms are a bit of unknown jewel in the security business because they have a unusual business philosophy of looking after existing customers rather than chasing new business. In my experience this has meant that their maintenance fee has always been reasonable and is only occasionally increased and then usually less than the rate of inflation. They advised and installed a system for me that was dog friendly and which has given almost no issues over 18 years use. You own the kit that they install and annual visits that are included in the maintenance fees check on all the equipment, including testing the smoke alarms. Its a small business whose staff seem to stay so you get experience and continuity in your dealings with them and the owner knows his stuff so will help you specify a system that actually meets your requirements. What they won't do is take over other people's systems because they only want to support decent kit that they know works well and has been properly installed by them. That's my experience anyway.

Ive been using this company for around 12 years now on my various work premises. We were recently burgled and whilst the system worked a treat and they came out rapidly, it was clear we needed more. They installed an advanced system for us quickly, easily and with almost zero disturbance to my business. They are great people, seriously know their stuff, rapid and speedy call out surface, well priced and generally everything you would need in an alarm and security company. As a local businessman, I would highly recommenced this company.

We have been clients since 2003. Intruder alarms and gate control systems - all good but when there are problems Fortress put them right quickly. We reported a problem on Monday this week - they came out same day - ordered parts - all working again Wednesday. All the engineers and staff we have seen have been friendly and knowledgeable ( the owner can be brusque but we don't mind that because we value his expertise not his patter). Highly recommended.

A company not to be recommended. They supply equipment that does not work then are reluctant to call out and fix the problem. When they do arrive, they are grudging in their approach to solving the issue. The girl that answers the phone is negative and extremely unhelpful. The staff are just not nice people. Avoid!

Called to ask if they would be able to replace a Sensor that may have failed. The receptionist was very negative. Because it wasn't one of theirs and because it wasn't maintained by them. If she had of been a touch more forthcoming or welcoming, I would happily have considered a maintenance agreement with them but at £180 call out and she stated We are very busy at the moment, did not inspire any confidence. I fully understand looking after your contracted clients, that is a given but isn't it important, imperative to also feed the Pipeline in relation to taking on new clients? Poor show! KM
