Travelled all the way to visit this place in Gipsy Hill Taproom after seeing it on Instagram. Have to say was hugely disappointed. We had to wait 2 hours for our food after arriving at 5pm. They said they only serve food from 6pm which wasn’t mentioned anywhere. Then we put our order in straight away only to have to wait 1 HOUR for chips, a burger and Mac and cheese, considering there were no queues. People who ordered after managed to get their food before us! When food finally came, chips were uncooked 🤢 and burger looked nothing like the ones advertised on socials and the meat was hard to digest. We ended up leaving and had to source a meal elsewhere after asking for a refund.

Had a really good experience there last year, went back yesterday and were thoroughly disappointed with both the food and the service. Firstly, when I asked staff if I could have chilli in my pork bun, the response was “it’s not ideal”, but he shrugged his shoulders and did it. (Sorry, can anyone enlighten me about why pork and chilli is a bad match?). We ate on the pavement right there as we were starving. The bun was was filled with fatty cubes of pork inside that were neither smoky nor slow cooked. When I showed this to the staff member, his response was: “I would eat it any day”. Very snotty attitude about their (below than) mediocre food, they are not interested in feedback or making a customer happy. Take your business elsewhere, the wick now has plenty of food options.

Oh my god, the beef flat bread was absolutely OUT OF THIS WORLD AMAZING. Would go back in a heartbeat to eat it again. 10/10!!! Would highly recommend.

Great food, these guys really know their way around meat. Vegetarian options: It's a barbecue place so the main attraction is the meat, but the baked potatoes with garlic mayo and the slaw are pretty great if you're vegetarian and in a pinch.
