    I had a very bad experience with this company in February 2021. At that time Mr Grannell was a franchisee with Furniture Medic but was in the process of parting company with them and had established his own company. Based on great reviews on the company website I engaged him to re lacquer the table top of my Skovby dining table. A job he said would be straightforward and produce good results. Alas, not so! He boasted of his involvement in Channel 4’s ‘Mend it for Money’. I wish I’d checked out back programmes on that and in particular reviews of his restoration of a ship’s poker table! To cut a long story short, he wrecked my table necessitating the replacement of it. Initially he admitted that an employee had caused the damage but quickly retracted that statement and refused to compensate me for my cherished table! No longer in production but current equivalent retails at £1700. In the event I purchased a table of lower specification and value. £1200. He refused to pay for it and I was forced to make a claim to the Sheriff Court(Simple Procedures). Mr Grannell engaged a solicitor to defend the claim.I was subjected to almost a year of, what I perceived to be, intimidation and verbal abuse but I persevered in presenting my case substantiating it with photographic evidence. In January 2022 the Sheriff upheld my claim and awarded the full price of the replacement table and the court fees. At age 70 I could have done without the experience! Particularly as covid caused a 9 month wait for the replacement! Disappointingly, Furniture Medic did nothing to assist despite being the Franchisor through whom initial contact with Mr Grannell had been made! Neither that company nor Mr Grannell appeared to have insurance to cover the unfortunate situation that had arisen! Beware!

Removed lots of water and ink stains from my antique wooden chest of drawers, added a light stain so the sanded parts matched the rest of the piece and oiled it all. It looks perfect! Great service, great price and collection and delivery was. Would highly recommend this company for furniture restoration.
