I went into Happy bean for a simple coffee and in return got rude attitude with a side of unwelcoming staff. Not quite the vanilla iced coffee I was expecting. One of the most disrespectful staff they’ve had as the other staff is welcoming, it was a male and an American female at the time. The issue wasn’t with the coffee shop itself, but with the attitude of the staff. The man came over with a hostile attacking style of telling us we aren’t allowed to have crisps that aren’t from there, understandable I didn’t buy them from the shop but I wasn’t making a mess nor creating an issue, however he came over and rudely told us that it’s a vegan store and we definitely can’t have outdoor things (keeping in mind I was eating vegetable crisps…). He then kept coming over multiple times after us saying sorry and putting things away to keep checking if we were eating something and giving us a side eye like we hadn’t listened? Anyway that wasn’t the issue as I understand it wasn’t from the shop, the issue was with the American girl worker. She had the poorest attitude towards the situation which could’ve been resolved in a nice manner as we didn’t know a packet of vegetable crisps would cause this much trouble. She kept glaring at us and when we eventually left she smiled and said goodbye to our friends and then when it came to us leaving she quickly turned that smile into a disgusting frown of disappointment and followed us out with her eyes? Quite frankly that wasn’t needed and I didn’t think it was that big of an issue, however in her ashamed eyes it was the end of the world. Not happy at all with the staff at the time as they are usually warming and welcoming, but that is truly disappointing. I hope they are not like that towards other people as that is damaging towards a company, especially if it’s a local running business.
