Hillcroft says Luxury & Mal deliveries luxury from start to finish absolutely amazing stay for my birthday weekend. We will definitely return for the Christmas markets. The little touches count & this property really has them all. A little fridge with milk & water. Chocolates & fresh flowers. Mals famous breakfast is top notch and sets you up for the day we've only just eaten again at 6pm from this morning. There are no negative points it's just the best. My wife and I stayed for a single night while celebrating the twentieth anniversary of the time we met. The house is clean, light and airy, charming and welcoming. The rooms are comfortable, and our host made every effort to make us welcome. He was enjoying a glass of wine out in the garden with some of the other guests at the time we arrived. Touches we appreciated included fresh flowers in the room, a fridge with bottled water and a pint of milk (rather than little pots of UHT skimmed), and a plentiful selection of luxury biscuits. In the morning, the most delicious breakfast I've had in a long time was in front of us in the kitchen/diner, where we enjoyed friendly conversation with our host, with plenty of time for us to talk among ourselves. Thoroughly enjoyable stay and highly recommended.

The most fantastic b&b we have ever stayed in. Mal is the most amazing host, friendly, very accomodating and an absolutely brilliant cook, his breakfast is unbelievably special 😋 . The room was huge and the special touches like chocolates 😁 and fresh milk in the fridge was most welcome. We had the best weekend ever at Mal's place and had such a laugh with him, he is such a genuine down to earth guy, honestly can't wait to visit again xx

I could not recommend this B&B more. Wonderful setting and accommodation, very friendly and attentive service and the delicious breakfasts are truly a great start to the day. The pretty village is 20 minutes from York and we found it to be a great location, close to the east coast / moors but also could scoot into York when we wanted to. All around very satisfied.

A very warm welcome awaits you from Mal, we stayed for one night while we attended a christening in the village, we stayed in room 1, the room was bright spacious with a very comfortable bed, a lovely welcome tray with tea, coffee, chocolates, fridge with fresh milk (a welcome change from a sachet !), toiletries and fresh flowers, good quality fluffy towels, breakfast was beautiful, choice of cereals then cooked breakfast or other choices, which Mal cooked fresh. There are 3 parking spaces, and a lovely garden to sit in on warmer days. Fangfoss is a lovely village with excellent walks in the area, a good village pub, we will definitely return, thank you Steve and Judith.
