I recently visited Jamieson and Smith with a small tour group. While the yarn selection was wonderful and the prices very good, the staff were decidedly unhelpful and unfriendly. They did not greet anyone in my group when we entered, never offered us any assistance, never came out from behind the counter, and never said hello, thank you, or anything for that matter when we made our purchases. Didn't crack a smile either. The staff made a very bad impression on my group.

Absolutely wonderful shop, brilliant customer service in store where everyone is friendly and genuinely happy to give advice about your yarn purchases-plus the shop smells incredible- and the mail order service is excellent too. I made a purchase on Thursday about lunch time and the wool was with me today (Saturday) in time to open along with my breakfast. Gorgeous and extensive range of colours, and the wool feels wonderful to knit with- makes me feel like a proper knitter.
