Rooms: Snug but good quality. Just what you need for a short stay. Decor suits the age of the property in a good way. Food & drinks: Nice but had better elsewhere.

We stayed 19-21st May. The hotel is gorgeous. Staff very friendly and hard working. Nothing was too much trouble. Whilst waiting for our evening meals, we sat on the terrace overlooking the beautiful gardens and had a drink whilst perusing the menu. Once our table and meal was ready, we were shown to our table, Food is amazing for taste and presentation. All locally sourced. We had two treatments which were lovely and we enjoyed plenty of time in the pool & hydro pool. There is also Sauna and Steam rooms. In the room, we had fresh flapjack that was replaced daily and there are robes for the room and the spa. We had a bottle of champagne in the room for when we arrived in an ice bucket, we did not drink this on the Friday but decided to have on Saturday. We took the bottle down to dinner with us and asked for an ice bucket, well you went out of your way to give us a freshly chilled bottle.. So many lovely touches and thoughts from your staff... The views over the gardens and Haytor are stunning from the dinning / breakfast room. From the hotel, there is a short drive, 1,5 miles to Haytor car park where you can take in plenty of walks over the moors. In particular we walked from Haytor to Houndtor and through the mazing bluebell fields. Its about a 5mile round trip and has stunning views. I would definitely recommend this venue.

Narrow country lanes to get there but the views are excellent. The hotel has marked walking maps from the hotel. Plenty of board games, puzzles for the inclement weather or outdoor games for good weather. We were there for a celebration and the staff were very accommodating. Very nice spa . Our package including the meal, wasn't as good as previous visits. Little things, no serviettes with desert cutlery, staff not too attentive as chat lots but very friendly. A different main course came out to the one I ordered. Food not as good this time if I'm truly honest. Service : 3/5 | Location : 5/5 Hotel highlights Quiet … More

Having celebrated my 70th birthday here we came back for my 80 birthday weekend! There were 17 of us and the ages ranged from 88 to10 and we had two wonderful meals all together as well as fantastic breakfasts. The rooms were so welcoming and comfortable and the time spent in the pool and spa was enjoyed by all but the under sixteens did find it disappointing to have their times in the pool restricted. We did understand the reasons of course. Thank you to all the staff for giving us such a happy stay with you.
