Completed the intro course with Ben, Cailean and Jakub. Fantastic bunch and a really informative day. They provided a comfortable space to explore the basics of getting into route setting. Even if you're an amateur climber, not looking for a change of profession, it's definitely worth doing.

Did the intro course- would 100% recommend to anyone with even a slight interest in the route setting process, or even just if you have a passion for climbing. The course for me, was the ideal ratio of “hands on” to “explanation and feedback” to get a good grasp of the fundamentals of route setting, and was presented in a relaxed, enjoyable way. I’ll deffo be back for the advanced course

Booked myself onto the Introduction to Route Setting Course at Yonder in London. Impact do courses at various locations which is perfect. Had an absolutely fantastic day with Ben, Cailean and Jacob. All very knowledgable, very friendly and encouraging. I thought I would be miles behind everyone else having never set a boulder in my life and been climbing for less than a year, but the atmosphere was very open and everyone was happy to contribute and help. The course started out with some safety aspects, drill use, hold types and what to think about and look for in a good boulder. We then set holds to wall and created our first boulder. After a lunch break we discussed and tested each others boulders in a very open, none-critical, constructive way and adapted them accordingly until the head route setter (the person who initially set the route) was satisfied. We then discussed some more advanced aspects, then set about creating our second boulders with a particular forced move. After some more testing and tweaking our boulders were officially opened for the public to climb. The day was well run, it was organised, the feedback was constructive and the instructors had a wealth of knowledge to share. I would very highly recommend this course to anyone.

I had a great time with Impact. I have done the introduction to route setting course in January 2022. Apart from safety and the basics, I learned how to set boulders, how to read them and how to tweak an improve the problems you and others set. It was really helpful and insightful and it is great that Impact gave me the opportunity to get into a field of climbing that it is usually quite hard to get in. I highly recommend everyone who wants to get into route setting to book a course with Impact! :)

Went on the Intro to Routesetting course (The Nest Climbing, London) and had a really fun time. Ben and Jake were great instructors - super knowledgeable, very friendly, gave full and helpful explanations, and just all round nice guys. I was a little worried everyone would be way more experienced than me but the atmosphere was really welcoming and relaxed. I left happy and tired, and with a strong desire to book myself onto the advanced routesetting course...
