I have used Iron’s for dry cleaning, alterations and repairs for many years. It’s always a pleasure to pop in and see Angie, Nigel and their staff. They are always professional and efficient. Dry cleaning is immaculately presented. When accepting alterations and repairs, they assess the work beforehand, confirm the cost and point out any potential problems. Do not use for alterations! Unfortunately, I used Irons for bridesmaid dress alterations. 5 out of 6 dresses did not fit, despite being pinned in the shop. I had to buy 2 new dresses to replace one which was taken up too short and was visibly wonky and another which was taken in in places it was not pinned, and was therefore too small. No apology, no attempt to rectify the problem, blocked my phone number and refused to refund the cost of the dresses ruined or cover the cost of replacements. Luckily, I found a local dry cleaner who was able to fix all poorly altered dresses and tailor the 2 new ones - they were shocked by the mess that Irons had made. Service: Alterations

Went to them to hem and shorten my bridesmaid dress. Was recommended by a friend who said they were quick and not as expensive as some other places. My friend was right! I was expecting a month, they took a week! The stitching is so professional! Paid half of what others estimated. Friendly family run business, lovely people and very knowledgeable! Do NOT use this place for alterations! My fiancé asked them to shorten the shoulder straps on her dress and the alteration is incredibly shoddy (see photo). They decided to take a shortcut and sew the fabric so that it intentionally didn’t align (as it was an easier job for them) and didn’t bother calling her to ask if this was ok. When she queried staff on why they didn’t call her, they refused to acknowledge a problem and were quite rude. The £90 dress is now ruined. Service: Alterations
