Got my ww1 replicas today, with the hobnails. Walked 2km, 5 of the 26 nails gone. Deeply disappointed in the quality. Sending them back asap, don't even care if I get my money back. Send the boots back. Never heard from William Lennon & Co Ltd. Checked if they had been delivered. They had. Expensive lesson. Never heard from William Lennon again. Complete waste of space.

Ordered a pair of the Canadian commando boots. Boots had a deeply scuffed leather (which admittedly is somewhat visible in the site pictures also) as well as dark oil stains throughout. Sadly the website description does not mention this second part and their photos do not show this. The gusset was stained a different shade to the rest of the uppers. I was able to obtain a refund for the boots however was not refunded on the cost of return shipping. The company were completely unsympathetic claiming this was my personal preference. Sadly I cannot figure out how to attach photos of the boots so you can see how even the tanning on the leather looks like someone’s been scraping it with sandpaper. What was possibly more disappointing than the boots was the tone in the customer service emails which seemed to put the blame on me the client for shoddy manufacturing. Definitely not worth the 4 month production time wait.

Fantastic shop and bootmaker. I’m a furniture maker, and I was getting through Screwfix’s own-brand ‘Site’ boots about every 6 months, at £30 a pop. They start off shiny and new but start to fail after a few months, and basically they fall apart and need to be thrown away. In frustration I went to William Lennon and got a pair of their Rufflander boots, which lasted about 3 1/2 years of 5-day a week workwear in my workshop. After all the hammer I’ve given them, the leather near one of the creases had just started to fail in the last couple of months, and so I have just bought another pair of their 940R boots. They are just as comfortable and well-made as the last pair, and I expect I’ll get another 3 or 4 years of wear out of them as well. I can’t recommend this company enough.

Second pair of footwear from this company. They make traditional boots and shoes. Comfortable straight out of the box. Very satisfied. Make most USA workboots look a little inadequate. Well worth the brief wait for making and delivery. Excellent customer service.
