I am owed over £2000 from this restaurant from back in January. They took my money for a deposit for a party, and a week later went into liquidation, they knew they were going bust, why did you take my money?!?!?!?! They RUINED my birthday as I only got told a week before my birthday, absolutely NO communication. I have raised a ccj and still no response from them. Appalling way to run a business, I’m so furious!!!! Why won’t you give me my money back?!?!?!

I just returned from my evening dinner at L’Escargot restaurant in soho. My expectations were quite different from what I experienced. Having just left the pub and England/France soccer quarter final game, I was expecting a quieter more relaxed atmosphere. I was wrong. While the food was good, I really couldn’t enjoy the meal with the noise from the table of six two tables over. They were no quieter than the folks in the pub during the game. Although I mentioned to and it was acknowledged by the wait staff, nothing further was done. On my way out I spoke to the manager and discussed my concerns. I was told they were a table of 6 and were having fun. I suggested he had a responsibility to not only the table but other guests around the table. He explained that he was the manager and didn’t see a problem. My final thoughts are that although they claim to be the oldest French restaurant in London, be prepared to possibly sit next to a group of loud and boisterous people and realize it is totally acceptable.

I came here for birthday celebrations in the summer and the food was beautifully prepared and so full of flavour. A little slow on the night, but to be expected as it was very busy with all tables booked. On the evening they also had a live pianist which added to the atmosphere. Highly recommend!
