A classic establishment in the City, doing ever reliable steak and chips. We were incredibly hemmed in, basically sharing a bench with an adjacent table. When the table next to us were being served, the waitress essentially used my seat as the access point for them. It was certainly uncomfortable to try to get out of her way. I would note that the cost has gone up sharply. Steak, chips and salad is now £30. With the crammed in tables and extremely simple menu, you might hope for better value.

Its been over a decade since I have been to their other restaurant in Marylebone. The City branch didn't disappoint! I gave 4 stars because while the food and general ambience was great..the noise level was on a another level - so forget having a conversation, lip read instead ;)

I love this chain restaurant. Simple recipe and great price. It was years that I haven’t been. I missed the one that was in Canary Wharf. I went on a Thursday evening with friends. We arrived at 6:20PM and there was already queue, but to guarantee the first seat. We were able to get one of the last tables available (it is a bit pain that they don’t allow you to sot until your whole party it is there). After we sat the queue didn’t stop to grow until we left there was already queue. The pain that they don’t get booking reservations as well. The entrance salad with special dressing, bread. Then the main course steak with their amazing sauce + frites. As many frites repeat you want. One extra portion of steak. Mine came cold At the first but they gave me a new one great. I just think they should have a few more waitresses as it is really busy and service gets slow. But definitely it will not change the flavour. And most the great price.
