Tony has magic hands - I was in a lot of pain and discomfort and thought I was just getting too old to carry on running. He fixed me after 3 sessions. I've been to other physios ... Tony is exceptional!

I have been attending Tony’s Pilates class for the last three years. The exercises we do each week are constantly varied and always targeted at ensuring we have a complete workout without the tedium of a large impersonal Pilates class. Apart from the health benefits it has been a good forum to develop new friendships.

Over 3 1/2 years ago I was referred to Tony Deakin by BUPA for a rather nasty case of tennis elbow. He told me during treatment he was opening a clinic and would be holding pilates classes, he thought it would help me. I was unsure, I have suffered with chronic pain and hip pain for years and take very strong medication for it, and apart from that I couldn't get up off the floor unaided. He installed a ballet bar (not just for my benefit I'm sure), which meant I could haul myself up off the floor, so I went to his very first class, just to see...... I've been going ever since, twice a week, the difference in my life is amazing and I can't thank Tony enough!!! I'm not cured, I never will be, but I'm spending less days in bed unable to move, I still get pain, but its more manageable! My husband had sent me on a rather expensive pain management course about 8 years ago, and they taught us all these exercises, but they didn't tell us these exercises where pilates, but they did tell us the key to ALL back pain is posture and having a strong core. Having a condition, something that your average fitness instructor maybe doesn't understand, makes having pilates lessons with my physiotherapist the sensible thing to do. He adjusts each move to each persons condition and holds small class sizes. Over that time we have become friends, when someone changes your life, you tend to become friends. Since then, my whole family has been to Tony for various treatment, (because not only is he an amazing pilates instructor, he's also an amazing physiotherapist) and he's fixed them all! He really does have 'Super Thumbs' :-)

Tony is a fantastic physiotherapist - I have a long-standing shoulder problem and I occasionally see Tony for massage, Instrument-assisted soft tissue massage, and dry needling. I always feel better - usually for several months at a time. I'm very happy to recommend him as an experienced, kind, and very knowledgeable physio.
