When I decided to pick up learning the guitar again after ditching it when I was 12, I never expected lessons to be as they are! I expected a very formal set agenda of learning from a chord book and dreaded that I may have had to play Country Roads or Kumbaya. Not a bit of it. My first conversation with Roi was all about him finding out about my passion for music and different genres and then what I would like to gradually achieve. His approach instantly focused on what would inspire and motivate me. His listening skills and openness instantly put me at ease to start learning. He is clear, organised and through tapping into what I like to play I have really gained confidence. I played a Johnny Cash and Waterboys number (with Roi’s support) on the Lets Play Stage at the Phoenix Festival in Cirencester last year. It was a blast!! He is an immensely skilled teacher and his willingness to share his musical passions and particular style of playing is fascinating. Also I love the written feedback that Roi provides after key lessons which is detailed and clear about next steps. Roi has also helped me to link with other people learning and enjoying music - he is a natural at helping people to be welcomed into local musical networks . I absolutely look forward to my lessons - they are fun and so encouraging. I love being taught in such an individualised manner, which takes great skill, and care from Roi . Book him now !!
