I would say that one of the keys to my improvement is that I now have the confidence to develop my own style. And this is solely down to Mels teaching style . Her studio is a safe place and there’s no need to feel self conscious , so you can relax and let the music out.

Mel is a superbly supportive singing teacher / voice coach. She builds confidence, extends ability, concentrates her boundless energy on encouraging one to "have a go" at pushing boundaries and trying something new (which may be difficult or demanding but, one finds, is never impossible). Mel makes every lesson fun. She ensures that one concentrates on technique so that one can enjoy making the best sound possible. She explains, clearly and interestingly, what the voice can do and how best to help it work in an optimum way. One is challenged to improve but always within the context of finding pleasure in what one is doing & can do. I look forward to every session and would recommend her unhesitatingly.

I have been having singing lessons with Mel for the past 4 years and in that time she has helped me to prepare for my undergraduate musical theatre audition in which I was successful. I found Mel's extensive knowledge on vocal health particularly helpful as vocal tension was something I struggled with when I first met her. She has helped me massively with my vocal and performance confidence. I would recommend Mel, she is such an amazing and supportive teacher. In the Covid time, being a single kid, my daughter needed support and motivation. Mel has always supported her and gave her all the personal attention that she needed the most at that time and has really helped build up her confidence. I can't thank her enough. She is fun and full of energy. She plans her lessons and has a clear vision of how to improve my daughter's singing.

I have had around 5 singing lessons over Skype during the various lockdowns, and I've been thoroughly enjoying them. I and others around me have noticed a big difference in my voice, - it sound much stronger, cleaner and smoother. I am also more confident to sing in front of others. I didn't know what to expect initially, but I'm so glad I got out of my own way to just do it. Mel is down to earth and easy going which means a lesson isn't one full of anxiety; in fact there is usually much laughter, which helps take away any nerves I may have initially been feeling. I look forward to them, and would thoroughly recommend Mel as a great vocal coach. Don't think about it; just do it!

I've had Singing Lessons with Mel for 2 years. Over that time my Confidence has increased immensely, along side a greater understanding of not only the mechanics of Singing but also an understanding of Performance Anxiety (something that I had struggled with for a long time) .
