Such a pleasant experience visiting my orthodontist, I saw Dr U Jahr to have my braces fitted. She was so lovely, gave me all the information and reassuring that I needed. Lovely staff and all in just can't fault the place!! Truly grateful!! Highly recommend!!

I used to be a patient of Dr S.Vine here, a few years ago. She was always professional, calm, clear and reassuring during all of my appointments. Dr. Vine showed me how to floss and use the inter-dental brushes correctly, something my hygienist at the time failed to do so. The reception staff were always smiley and professional in dealing with my queries. The waiting times would sometimes be just over 30 minutes. I guess with it being quite a busy Orthodontic, that's understandable. I am very grateful to Manchester Orthodontic: in that they were able to refer me to Stepping Hill Hospital for a two year brace treatment (recently began) which will possibly be followed by Maxillo-facial surgery.

This dentist has a time management issue. I booked in with My Dentist Withington for 14:40, after arriving and realising there was no parking I was at the reception door by 14:45, only to find there was no bell or way of making engagement with the reception staff. After 5/6 minutes, I was finally greeted by someone who was quite rude and not very welcoming at all. The lady at reception told me to take a seat, before stating I was 'late' and that they may not be able to see me. Sure enough, 5 minutes later I was told I wasn't able to have my appointment as the dentist was now busy with someone else. From what I could see, my dentist was actually still engaged with the customer before me, so even if I was there early, I'd have had to wait for them to finish. As it happened they were just finishing as I was still sat there, so I don't understand why I could no longer have my appointment. I was then told to rebook my appointment, and whilst looking at my diary to check my availability was pushed for an answer by a very rude receptionist. This isn't the level of treatment you expect from a private clinic, very unprofessional, not very caring or welcoming. I have since tried ringing to complain, however despite their opening times stating they close at 4:30, trying to ring between 4:20 - 4:25 just gets you the answer machine which states they are closed. It appears this clinic has an issue with time management and professionalism. Furthermore, some positive reviews appear to be written by staff and ex-staff.

I am absolutely appalled by the way I've been treated by this practice, and their incompetence in general. I have been a private patient of theirs for a few years with the very last visit occurring approximately 3 years ago. The lastest advice from an orthodontist who saw me then was 'to let them now if anything unusual happens'. And it had unfortunately. A few weeks ago I saw my GP who had verbally referred me back to this practice, assuming this would be the best approach to resolve my problem. The appointment had been booked 3 weeks ago for the 27th of March, with appropriate reasons for it given there and then. Today, 5 hours prior to (yes 5 hours....) my appointment they rang me saying it's been cancelled by the practitioner, giving the reason: 'we can't help due to the nature of a problem '. First of all, That must be some top superior psychic skills alongside the orthodontic degree. How can you assume that you can't help the patient without even attempting to see them in the first place? What kind of professional approach is it to cancel an appointment a few hours before it's due? I need to wait another number of weeks now until something can be done, just because that place is so disorganised. A very good luck to you, if that's how you do business with private patients.
