  I can honestly say that this is the best dentist i have ever been to! if there was a 10 star rating, I would choose that! I have had a phobia/fear of dentists since my childhood and having had poor treatment in the past. The folks at Newby Dental Practice are kind and caring, they explain the treatments you need and how they are going to do the work clearly. they listened to my concerns and offered care and advice. They also do Denplan, so you can make private treatment affordable. I cannot thank Phil and the rest of the team enough for how they have looked after my family and I! if you have a fear of dentists, give them a try, it worked for me and i will be with them from now on. Thanks again to all of the team at the practice.

  My hubby got appointment here threw 111 has he needed his tooth pulling has it was wobbly and he had absecess aswell. Wen we first walked into the dentist the receptionist was really helpful and polite and couldn't do enough to help us I asked if I could go in with my hubby has he doesn't like dentist and gets worked up and anxious she told me yeah no problem. The appointment was for 4pm got told to get there 20 mins before which we did and didn't get seen till 4.20pm . My hubby got seen and the dentist was rude and looked down her nose at us she put local anesthetic in and didn't wait jus went to pull the tooth my hubby nearly shot out chair. She said oh will take abit longer to go numb has u have infection there so if that was case why go and pull early. She thn started twiddling her fingers and huffing so my hubby said just pull it his mouth wasn't even numb she gave him something to put in his mouth and told him keep it in for 30 mins and that was all no other information no nothing . My hubby was in agony and wen we left the receptionist had got the door wide open and sprayed air freshener and made big point that the waitin room smelt bad off cigarette smoke yes me and my hubby smoke but we are clean and wash our clothes every nite I have OCD so I'm very clean person. I felt ashamed and embarrassed to how they went off like me and my hubby was smelly . The dentist didn't give my hubby antibiotics no nothing . I would never go there again even if it was emergency has the level off care is disgusting and if I did pay for my treatment no way would I pay for that . They need better level care yes it was clean and tidy and very up to date but the the dentist we saw was rude arrogant and didn't care for my hubby one bit . If that was me in chair I couldn't have had it pulled has I have bad phobia dentist and I need people to be caring and show some level empathy. I hope no one else goes threw what we went threw

  I have not even had my initial new patient appointment and cannot praise this practice enough. From the initial telephone call to enquire about registering and the friendly and helpful reception staff on visiting the practice. They have accommodated an emergency I had before my initial appointment in a helpful and professional manner. The Dentist I saw was very reassuring as I am nervous from previous experiences and explained my treatment plan in detail.

  I had a terrible experience here after booking an appointment to discuss cosmetic dentistry. The whole appointment felt very patronising for multiple reasons. To begin with, I was told that cosmetic dentistry wouldn't be possible until I had resolved a few dental issues. I explained that I understood that and still wanted to discuss my options for the future, but was given absolutely zero information, other than constant reminders that I would have to pay for the service. The appointment was a complete waste of time and I left feeling like I had been judged on my appearance. I think in this day and age, it's unacceptable to make assumptions about someone's financial situation based on their appearance. It was rude and unprofessional. To make things worse, I was told by the treatment co-ordinator that someone my age shouldn't have any cracked teeth, without her having any information about my background or why my teeth were cracked. I tried to explain my situation, but was just told it was because my diet was too high in sugar and that her daughter was the same age as me and didn't have any dental problems. So I shouldn't either. I left with absolutely no information about the options available to me and feeling terrible. My advice is to visit a different dental practice.

  Rude staff that make assumptions about their customers/patients. Don't bother going unless you like to be judged - if you don't look like a specific kind of money they'll just patronise you and assume you can't pay.

  This has to be the leading dental practice in Scarborough if not the north of England. The level of customer service is outstanding. The dentists I've seen here have been excellent and have always put me at ease. Whenever I've needed treatment this has always been discussed, with treatment plans being proposed that are bespoke to me and my needs. I wish the team at newby dental all the best and I'll see you again soon. Troy
