After my family have moved to Sholling we have registered with Peartree Practice, what a big disappointment unprofessional end extremely rude !! Roger Wood - how this person can even work as Nurse hes extremely rude, he literally ignored my concerns and hand up on me. On my blood test I notice that nurse didn't disaffected my skin before she wanted to put niddle into my arm and after my request to do so I was told they only do it when someone is physically/visibly dirty !! I will be moving elsewhere ASAP and I will be sure to complain directly to NHS

Just had my first contact with this surgery since joining. The clinician was so rude! He didn't listen to me or have any interest in my needs. He had an attitude from the get go. I'm grieving and have mental health problems and don't drive. He kept insisting I couldn't take a copy of a letter to Bitterne and must take it to Sholing despite this. When I asked why Bitterne couldn't pass the info on he said they could but it would take a couple of days and it was easier to take it to Sholing .Despite me explaining how difficult that would be for me and I can't get there today anyway. He was talking to me like I was a small and stupid child...I'm in my 50s. I tried to explain my situation. He said he couldn't see an e consult, but there must have been one because they phoned me.I ended up hanging up in tears. I'm scared now that I've made a big mistake His attitude was appalling. I wish I had read the reviews before changing surgeries. I hope this was a one-off and the rest of the staff are more interested in the patients' needs than this rude, unhelpful man. Thanks for the response. But that is exactly why he should have listened. I told him that I couldn't get to Sholing. If he hadn't cut me off, he would have known I couldn't get there until Thursday (this was on a Friday), so Bitterne was way quicker. I got a response on Monday. He didn't say it would take longer. He said it wasn't possible to take it there as they only dealt with certain things. I asked "can't i take it to Bitterne, i don't drive, and im grieving and have anxiety," he responded. "No, you have to bring it to Sullivan rd." When i asked why I couldn't, he informed me Bitterne only deal with certain things. It was only right at the end of the phone call that he conceded that it was, in fact, possible to take it there, but it takes longer than bringing it to Sholing and it is easier to bring it to Sholing. If he had allowed me to finish speaking he would have known in my case that wasn'ttrue. . He was rude and unpleasant and only interested in his agenda. I was crying, and he just scolded me like I was a difficult child, all because I wanted to explain why I wanted to go to Bitterne. He just kept repeating i couldn't take it there, and I was making it difficult. Even 6 the end of the call, he kept saying it was easier to go to Sholing, but not for a working, grieving, non driving me, it wasn't. Not interested in hearing my needs or what i wanted. Luckily, the woman on reception at Bitterne was lovely and made me feel more human as I was still crying my eyes out when I got there. I haven't been treated that way since I was a child. He needs training on listening to the patients' needs . UPDATE 26/4/23 So far since my initial experience, it's only fair to say that I've had no problems. I've not had an appointment yet, but several prescriptions, with no problems. The staff have been helpful and receptionists are very helpful too. Am upgrading from 1 to 4 stars, hopefully my initial experience was a one off.

Been with this surgery since it was Bath Lodge then they merged & moved to this place, all to receive a larger budget (£££s) but the service suffered as they can’t adequately cope with the increase in patient numbers. Couldn’t wait to leave here after belonging to since childhood. Dreadful service, if this was a private business, it would have gone bust ages ago.

Husband has been bad since December with an ongoing breathing problem but each time we have needed them it has been a good service from getting sick notes to the lovely lady taking blood the other morning who went and got a paramedic lady to check him again as he was still poorly even after an ambulance visit early hours that same day .

I don’t think that GP services should exist. I am not sure what they are being paid for? Probably for playing “ping pong” by diverting patients who knows where and not doing the job at all. We have been discharged from hospital a couple of months ago. Hospital promised us an appointment to return to hospital after 4 weeks. 8 plus weeks gone, we are still waiting. So, we have some concern and in need of check up to skip serious issues. I called Peartree Surgery - as it is our Surgery to look after us. Right, I called them addressing the concern. Instead of booking lady in her 68 for check up, for blood test and referral to Hospital, GP doctor called us and deciding to help she “ping ponged” us and told us to call to Hospital or wherever we were in Hospital. She said if we won’t have a luck chasing Hospital to call back to GP Surgery for another “ping pong” service. Unfortunately, we yet had no luck, today will be another day of trying to “catch the bird for its tail”. P.S It is not the one case, in the summer I had pneumonia. I could not get hold of Peartree Surgery at all. Spoke to some E-GP and they told me to drink paracetamol, inhale Olbas etc.. . So I went to private practice and they saved me with strong antibiotics and treatment.

I really wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt. I came here after being at the University Health Service for 4 years of great service. It's probably not the practices fault they are clearly underfunded and serving more people than they can, getting routine appointments is a mystical art, blood tests, anything. I'd suggest looking at a different practice as it seems this one has a huge list of patients and not enough staff / hours. Update 2022 Things have only gone downhill. Unless you live local and have the time to go reception in person, you won't get an appointment. They don't pick up the phone, the online booking system doesn't work and nobody in admin does what they say they're going to do. You will have to go in as often as possible to remind them to do things like send blood tests to clinics. And, as ever, some of the GPs have minimal knowledge on things like mental health and neurodivergence. All the nurses are absolutely lovely though.
