I attempted to buy a coffee for myself and my wife at Puccino's in Hemel Hempstead train station on the 27th November, 2020 at 10:30am. As we are in lock-down at this time my wife was wearing a face mask and I was wearing my exemption lanyard. As soon as we approached the cashier I was shouted at for not wearing a mask. I explained to the lady that I was wearing an exemption lanyard at which point she really lost her cool. She stood silently for a good five seconds giving me what I would describe as an icy-cold stare down. She then began aggressively banging and crashing the necessary pots and pans around in order to make the coffee. Feeling awkward I asked her if she would prefer me to leave. This caused her to stop what she was doing and once again she stood in silence giving me a confrontational stare down. At this point I decided to leave. My wife told her that she should be nicer to people. She responded by shouting at her and exclaiming that she hadn't said anything. This was in fact correct as she hadn’t bothered to respond to a single thing that I had said to her. In future I am going to make a point of NEVER giving a single penny to Puccino's regardless of the location.

To be honest, one star is generous. The service today was disgusting. Really rude barista who SHOUTED at me, because she forgot to charge me for snacks, only coffee and because she ignored the fact I had a keep cup and told me I gave it to her too late (I gave it to her immediately as I was served). When I asked why she didn’t charge me for the snacks, she said “well it’s not MY fault!”. No courtesy, no manners, horrible attitude. Please sort out either who you hire, how you train them or both. I’m sure there are many people out there looking for work who’d do a lovely job of serving customers well, but this time it went badly wrong. So disappointed.
