    I used Blacks Sols for my Remortgage and Transfer, but the communication was slow and cumbersome. I often had to follow up update requests with emails and calls to get a response, sometimes responses taking days to be received. Despite paying over £900 for their service, it was not much better than the free legal service offered by lender solicitors. I sent my documents via special delivery on a Tuesday and emphasized the urgency of the case, but there was no progress made on my file during that week, not hearing anything until the following Monday, after me prompting progress, rendering the extra postage fee pointless. Additionally, they never provided pre-paid envelopes, and they would send multiple documents at different stages (when the documents could have all be sent/requested at the beginning of the process), expecting me to cover the postage every time. On the day of completion, they realised they didn't have the bank details for the outgoing party (although this had been sent previously with the special delivery documents). This oversight caused significant distress as they contacted the outgoing party at 3:40 PM on the day of completion, expecting them to sort it out (why they didn’t check the case over before setting up the completion to make sure they had everything required I will never know), the only explanation given was that the case handlers assistant must have accidently thrown the bank details away when they opened the envelope and an apology was only given when the outgoing party questioned why they weren’t called earlier. Blacks also made mistakes with the completion statement (incorrect loan and redemption amounts), and I had to point out the mistakes, I also had to remind them to perform tasks that should have been their responsibility. Given my experience of working in a similar field for 10+ years and industry knowledge, I would rate Blacks 2 out of 5 at best. I have requested a refund for the money transfer fee (due to the mistakes made with sending funds on the day of completion), but I have yet to receive a response and I doubt I will. Very disappointed with the whole process and would definitely not recommend.
