My mum and dad stayed at this hotel for their wedding anniversary. I called up before to ask if I could pay to leave a bottle of champagne in their room and the lovely gentleman on the phone was more than happy to help. As I mentioned this was for my parents anniversary, they also left a card to congratulate them. Such thoughtful staff! Thank you x

This pub & hotel has a good traditional "olde world" charm, lovely log fire and an equally warm ambience. The food that we had in the bar was pretty good and the variety on the menu equally adequate. It was pretty good value for money too, which is always a bonus. Service was good but they had to put a hold on orders for 20 minutes as the kitchen was too busy. A strange way to deal with a standard lunch service for hungry customers. There is a restaurant for meals other than the bar lunch that we experienced open in the evening.
