"Which place is that?" my friend asked. "You know" I hesitated. "The one that's a bit like IKEA but with all the..." "Oh, the weird place?" they interjected. We agreed, and understood. This is an homeware/craft store based on the IKEA showroom, which simultaneously provides everything and nothing that you're looking for. I always think to go here when looking for gifts and curios but still never find quite what I'm after.. I find plenty of other things, it's quite a nice - if weird - place. I laugh at their often pretentiously high-culture music choices juxtaposing with Stutter and Twitch's ultra-cool coffee van ambiance outside. Ultimately, and unfortunately, I'm not an impulse buyer, so I generally leave the maze empty handed. Still, I go back.. every time.. in the hope that that as-yet-unimagined thing I need might be there. Worth a visit. Very Marmite.
