Wooden floorboards under my soles, English bookshelves up to the ceiling, carefully sorted and curated down to the last corner. The Japanese woodblock prints and old posters for films and events were particularly interesting. First seen in the history book, then covered in the design course and now in high-quality large format right in front of me: Metropolis. The heart soars and the imagination bubbles. A wonderful discovery. My questions were answered professionally and friendly in both German and English. So if you want to remain curious, stretch your antennae in all directions and gain a glimpse of the future by dealing with the past, if you dare to step over the threshold of time and immerse yourself in a new world, you've come to the right place . Otherwise everyone is right here. Just for the experience of having visited a reputable British antiquarian bookshop (books and prints!). Außer den drei Mitarbeitern ist niemand hier. Ich werde freundlich begrüßt. Ahh, welch wunderbarer englischer Akzent! Holzdielen unter meinen Sohlen, englische Bücherregale bis zur Decke, bis in den letzten Winkel sorgfältig sortiert und kuratiert. Besonders interessant waren die japanischen Holzdrucke, sowie alte Plakate für Filme und Veranstaltungen. Zum ersten Mal im Geschichtsbuch gesehen, dann im Design-Studium behandelt und jetzt im hochwertigen Großformat direkt vor mir: Metropolis. Das Herz jauchzt auf und die Fantasie sprudelt. Eine wunderbare Entdeckung. Fachkompetent und freundlich wurden meine Fragen sowohl auf Deutsch als auch Englisch beantwortet. Wer also neugierig bleiben will, seine Antennen in alle Richtungen strecken will und durch die Auseinandersetzung mit der Vergangenheit einen Ausblick in die Zukunft gewinnen will, wer sich traut, über dir Schwellen der Zeit zu schreiten und einzutauchen in eine neue Welt, der ist hier richtig. Auch sonst ist jeder hier richtig. Allein schon für die Erfahrung ein seriöses, britisches Antiquariat (Bücher und Drucke!) besucht zu haben.
