Rooms: Spotlessly clean. Bathroom was as if it were brand new. Plenty of towels. Loads of drinks, comfortable bed and lovely and warm Food & drinks: Breakfast was amazing. Just not fitting of the tariff we paid. Choice of anything you can imagine with seemingly unlimited anything!! Brilliant Noteworthy details: Building is unstaffed after 15.00hrs. If you check in after then, make sure you read your email regarding confirmation of booking.

Stay utterly ruined by the people in the building next door. First two nights good, third night appalling due to the party going on in the house next door. I understand that it was new year's, but playing music and singing and shouting like it's Glastonbury festival isn't on in such a residential area. A shame as the staff here are lovely, Caroline, Tilly, Ellie and all are brilliant and helpful. Nice breakfast, guesthouse is in good location near the city. Stayed in room 4 which is ok, but right next to party central. Who finally stopped sometime after 3am.

St. Mary's Guest house is ideally situated just about 10 minutes walk into York centre. The breakfast served was outstanding, a lovely full English breakfast served by very friendly, welcoming staff. The only thing that stopped us from giving a full five, is that in the bathroom of room 5, the heated towel rail had a water leak, plus there was a leak coming from the bottom of the toilet, when we entered the toilet there was always a puddle of water.
