It’s not often that you can say that going to the optician was a pleasure, but in the case of Optomeyes-Eyecare, it really was! I have known Sue for a while, but it took a recent trip to Malta for me to realise that my current sunglasses from a regular high street chain, really didn't cut it in terms of quality or glare. I found myself still squinting and, as I am moving to Cyprus where it will be very sunny (!), I decided to pay her a visit. Sue (in Wickham) gave me a very thorough eye examination and it was reassuring to hear that all was good in terms of my general eyesight (notwithstanding my years!), and she took time to show and explain the scans and various pictures she had taken of my eyeballs. This was no conveyor belt service, this was personalised but highly professional appointment, with state of the art equipment to ensure that if there had been something wrong, she would have been able to pick it up, and refer, super quickly. Once tested, I then went on to choose a pair of frames. As I hate glasses on me, this would normally be almost the worst part! But they couldn't have been more helpful in terms of advising which best suited my face and, with the additional independent endorsement from a waiting client, I ordered a pair. Just two weeks later, they were ready to be collected. As I drove to Portsmouth early yesterday morning directly into the rising sun, I donned my new glasses and marvelled at the fact that there was no hint of a squint as I faced the glare. My only regret? I should have gone to see Sue ages ago instead of waiting ‘til now!

I have recently visited Optomeyes in Wickham and wow what an amazing optician. Optimeyes is a lovely friendly independent optician who really take their time to get everything exactly right. Sue the optician there checked my eyes and was really thorough and she also carried out a full scan of the backs of my eyes. When choosing my glasses, I also got loads of help and advice on frame styles and shapes before being expertly measured up. I was never made to feel hurried or production line like in some high street opticians and everything from start to finish has been fantastic. If you are looking for an optician who you can trust to give a really good service, then I recommend Optomeyes.
