  We can’t recommended James enough!!! He goes absolutely above and beyond to capture the most incredible wedding photos. They are more than we could have ever imagined! James is such a calming and lovely presence on the day, and immediately puts you at ease. Our favourite thing about the photos is that James somehow manages to capture the pure emotion of every single moment which makes it so special to relive together, and with our guests.   Wow, we have just got our wedding photos back and they are unbelievable. James has been amazing from start to finish. We had a fantastic pre-wedding shoot in London which helped us all get to know each other and talk through our vision for our day. James was regularly in touch before the wedding, even taking trips to scope out our venues in Yorkshire and find the best locations for brilliant pictures. We didn't make it easy for him as we had 3 venues! His pictures are so atmospheric and captured the day perfectly. We have pictures we didn't even know he had taken and it's so wonderful to look back on happy memories. He is so lovely to work with, really listening to what you want to capture and combines some of the formal family portraits with more natural shots that show the fun mood of the day. We would totally recommend him. He was superb and such a lovely person.

  What can i say! Highly recommend, if your even thinking about it , don't think just book! James stepped in for our wedding after silly covid got in the way and our original photographer could no longer accommodate us for our new date. Little did we know our wedding date would yet again be moved. But James did not stress! With the tools of zoom, email and phonecalls at the drop of a hat he made sure he was able to work with us, even to the extent of moving his family holiday on a few days! You were a life saver 😀 The most relaxed, chilled out and happy guy you'll ever meet, we had our final and first meeting in person at a local pub and good pint, we knew we had made the best decision booking James, he also recommending us a brilliant videoographer with just weeks before the wedding they both who was also available and they were the dream team! Photos were incredible, from splitting himself on the morning to capture both myself and hubby to beautiful pictures in the woods with bubble machines, sparklers at night and holding barbed wire up so i could climb into a corn field to get the perfect back drop! James you made us laugh and smile all day, including the guests who all commented on how amazing and friendly you were. He even stayed to party a little too ... Thank you so much! We have captured memories from you that will make us smile forever, 1 year down the line we are soon ready ro celebrate our wedding anniversary and we wish we could do it all again! Lucy and Lee

  AMAZING We are so happy with our photos. From the first day we got intouch with Sugarbird they have been so professional and helpful. Never left me hanging around if I had a daft question in the run up to the wedding and James made sure the weather was just right for our pre Wedding shoot and the pics are 100 % worth waiting. If he tells you to go to the moon at 8pm because the lighting is amazing for your photos - you do it as he knows what he is talking about Just trust what he says and you won't be disappointed. It was like having an extra guest at our wedding and we never felt awkward. James is so creative and takes pictures that would never have entered my head.   What can we say except, thank you so much! If anyone needs a wedding photographer please choose James! He was so amazing with us on our wedding day. He was lovely and funny and put us both at ease and didn’t rush us at all. We aren’t always the most comfortable in front of a camera but that didn’t matter with James. He made us feel so comfortable and captured the most amazing natural shots that summed up our day perfectly. He is an insanely good photographer! Every shot he gave us was superb. I know for sure we will book him again for an event in the future x

  We hired James for our wedding just before Christmas, and he was brilliant. James made sure he was available for a few intro chats before hand, so he could understand what we were looking for and how best to approach the day. He made sure the day ran smoothly, he didn't rush us or make us feel like we had a camera in our face the whole day - being honest, we barely noticed he was there - which is exactly what we wanted and probably the biggest compliment we can make. He got us some initial photos after only a day or two and was able to put the whole album together much quicker than expected - the photos were absolultely brilliant and captured the emotion perfectly.   As soon as we saw James’ photos we knew we wanted him to be our wedding photographer, which turned out to be a very good decision indeed! In fact I’d go as far as to say this was the best decision we made in the whole process (almost joint top with the decision to get married!) James’ whole set up is super friendly and casual yet professional which is exactly what we wanted. We had loads of contact with him before the day and he was so accommodating when we had to move our wedding. On the day, James was a complete superstar. It was like having a friend there with you - he was so kind and generous throughout, helping us wrangle difficult family members into group shots and basically absorbing all of our stress. He blended in completely whilst also being completely integral to everything that was going on and the end result is pictures that feel truly effortless (which I’m sure they weren’t!). Neither of us really like having our picture taken but James made it feel so natural and our memories of sneaking away to have our pictures taken while the guests stayed inside are some of our favourites from the day. We received some amazing preview pictures a few days later and James kept us updated with the process so we knew when the pictures were coming. When the pictures arrived we were completely blown away by the way he’d somehow managed to capture the day exactly as we remembered. The end result is a mixture of beautiful candid pictures or our guests and us, and then the beautiful couples shots in which James had scoped out every picturesque vista of the venue imaginable and somehow made us look cool! He has such an eye for detail and light and colour and we will genuinely cherish the pictures James took forever. We can’t thank him enough for capturing a moment in time for us and if you’re thinking about booking him - just do it!

  We booked Sugarbird Photography before speaking to any other photographers. We didn’t need to see anyone else. James was everything we looked for. We had our wedding cancelled in April. James kept his word and we rebooked him for October. He kept us up to date every step of the way with zoom calls, phone calls and texts to let us know where we stand. When a call was due, he called. When he said he would be there, he was. The weather wasn’t the best but somehow, he got every shot we wanted. Without even knowing what them shots were. We didn’t even notice him on the day. The end product is absolutely phenomenal. I can’t think of a better person to help us capture our special day. 90% of the photographs are natural. All solid captured moments with no effort. When looking for your photographer, do not look past Sugarbird Photography. I can not speak highly enough of them. Thank you for making our day so fantastic. Liam & Rose.
