Had the uni and fish eggs both were slimy and does not taste fresh at all not worth the money.The rice were hot while the fish were cold which for me I find it not too go too well together.

🇯🇵 🇬🇧 Ever since exploring Japan I’ve found it very difficult to appreciate sushi in the UK. 🐟 The quality of the fish in Japan just hits different. Not to mention the care that is taken over the rice which is often the star of the sushi itself- if you translate sushi it literally means sour/ vinegared rice anyhow. So the rice should be pretty good, and in the UK it’s not on most occasions imho. 🍣 One of the better places in the Birmingham food scene that I’ve found is Takumi in Chinatown. The food here is prepared with care in my experience, and the end product, tasty and enjoyable. 🍤 And if you’re not into sushi or sashimi, they have plenty of other options like tempura and various grilled skewers/ Tori. 🍜 Personally I wouldn’t choose to have the ramen here (I’m quite picky with my ramen though), and imo there are better dishes, including the Agedashi Tofu on the menu. 👌Overall a solid choice if you’re craving Japanese food whilst in Birmingham China Town area.

Hands down!!! The best sushi in the UK I’ve ever had. And trust me when I say this, I’ve tried many over the years and Takumi by far tops them all. I mean where do I even start. From the starter all the way to the desserts. Every single dish I’ve had over the past year has been A1. Incredible. I can’t rate this place enough. And the staff especially the manager Jenny. Superb service, thank you so much giving me an amazing experience every time I visit. Also a massive thank you to the master chef for his talent in creating all this master piece.
