This wall was by far one of the most impressive things I have seen in my life. Unassuming, hidden and mundane, yet a unique piece of history. Just being here, imagining the soldiers minutes ahead of going to France ahead of D-Day was humbing and unique. Is weird to be part of history in such an intimate 'person-to-person' level, I felt it here for the first time in ages. Unmissable.

A booklet entitled D - DAY STORIES FROM THE WALLS American Troops in WW II Southampton is available giving insight to some of the men that carved their names so long ago.
