Lovely views and garden, breakfast was great and parking ideal. However, our room was incredibly hot at night (26°c) and without any working air conditioning or windows that could be opened fully we had to ask staff at reception twice for a fan to try and make the heat slightly more bearable. Sleep was very disturbed and uncomfortable and all the staff seemed well aware of the issues with that room prior to us booking. Also the pillows are only feather which are not great for vegetarians and also flat as a pancake. On a positive note the staff were apologetic the next day regarding the room temperature and did move us to another room which was significantly cooler allowing for a much better nights rest.

I have spent 5 days at the Marriott York in the last few weeks as part of work. The staff are amazing, very attentive and nothing is too much trouble for them. I highly recommend Marriott York to anyone. The location is perfect for York Racecourse and is approx. a 5 minute drive to Askham Bar Park and Ride, making the hotel the ideal place for all.

The hotel is clean, rooms spacious with hot, powerful showers. The breakfast was tasty, plentiful buffet style with extra ad hoc items like porridge and poached eggs if you prefer. The staff are all friendly and helpful, especially Maggie at breakfast. The pool, sauna, steam room, sauna & jacuzzi are all well maintained and clean. The location is about 30 mins walk decent walk to the city centre but that also means it's in peaceful, leafy suburb andnext to the racecourse. If you don't fancy the walk, the number 4 bus is frequent and quick into town. I'd definitely recommend. Rooms: Two double beds, plenty of space & counter space to spread out, little fridge (and corner shop across the road for snacks & drinks)
