  Been here twice in a few weeks, the first time the food was ok, nothing amazing, the service was awful. The place is run by kids, now I'm not putting any blame on these kids as they are just trying to earn some money! The owners have obviously lost interest in the place. The food was awful last night to the point had to return it. Two racks of ribs so burnt I don't understand how the food was allowed out of the kitchen. Table service was awful, had to get up and go to the bar to order drinks, which isn't any big deal but when you go out as a family for a meal at a table service restaurant you don't expect to have to remind staff you've been waiting for service. With so many places to eat in Thanet we won't be visiting this place again.

  I normally try to go to a place more than once before saying something (if it's in my neck of the woods anyway) but thought I'd make an exception for The Cow Shed. The reason for this will hopefully become apparent. So this was my first time here. I'm not sure if it's the norm but they were clearly very busy and despite having booked for 8pm it was close to 8:30 before we were actually seated. From what I overheard we may not have been the only couple in a similar situation this night. Once we were seated the serving staff were very attentive, and it seemed to be true for all the patrons in our vicinity, not just us so that's a good sign. I actually asked for extra time to decide on what to order and again - the waitress came back after basically exactly the right time. I had the ribeye steak, with my fries swapped for chunky chips, with garlic butter and some onion rings on the side. Then I treated myself to a biscof and bourbon shake. The shake though not massive was tasty, my wife liked it even more than me in fact. My one issue was it could have been a bit thicker, but I get that is more a personal preference and something that also tends to only be true to more dessert-centric businesses. The steak I had rare, and it came out perfectly cooked. I was very happy with it's flavour and texture and plan to maybe arrange to try one of their fancier steaks when I visit next. The garlic butter came out in a nice little ramekin. The chips and onion rings? Perfect. Very crispy, very warm. The chips were nice and fluffy inside and the onion rings were nicely fine such that one bite didn't just pull all the onion out. As a bonus my wife, upon realising she was thoroughly beaten by the ribs portion size, gave me a few of those to try. Very tender, full of flavour and the house BBQ sauce was delicious. I'm willing to forgive a lot for good food, and the food here that we were served this one time at least was excellent. I would absolutely come here again. Though if it's a time sensitive occasion I would either schedule for a less busy day/time (it was a Saturday night after all) or consider elsewhere. Additionally parking is nonexistent, requiring hunting in the surrounding residential areas for somewhere, so if that's important to you, you might need to consider elsewhere. And to be clear, although there was a large delay to the start, once we were seated the staff were friendly and attentive, no complaints at all. So a thank you to all staff at The Cow Shed Bar & Grill, and my apologies if my time got at all sharp while following up on the delay to our seating. Parking: Need to hunt for it in surrounding residential area unless there's other parking I am unaware of.

  Very disappointed with our visit tonight. Waited over an hour for our food to arrive and when it did it was luke warm. Waitress was made aware so she took husbands to be heated up as I decided to eat mine lukewarm. Husband ate his sides also warm not hot on their own whilst his dinner was heated up! I had picked at and had finished with my dinner by the time my husbands came back heated. I told the waitress we were not happy with the quality of our food and the fact we had waited so long for our food to then come out cold her reply was ‘chef/restaurant is having a bad day!’ Shame really as we have been previously and couldn’t fault the food.

  Sunday lunch was absolutely wonderful. Yorkshire puddings were crisp and melted in your mouth. Meat servings were great and the veg roasted instead of boiled. A great experience for the family.

  We arrived early and the staff were amazing, cocktails were mixed properly and were great. The food was cooked to perfection. Can't wait to go again Parking: Because of the location parking isn't easy to find, but it's well worth the short walk when you find a space.

  Great food and staff are lovely. Venue is a bit cramped but the food easily makes up for it. As they say you get what you pay for.

  Such good food! We went on the boards and board games night. The chicken board was very tasty and the wings were the best I'd ever had. The whole hog board was incredible. The crackling and the ribs were deliciously moreish. Will definitely be back.

  Super food with lots of choice, great portion sizes. Service was excellent. Went along for a birthday celebration and very glad we chose The Cow Shed!
