Sadly not the best compared to other theatre performances around. The acting felt stiff and slow, the story rushed through. At times it felt like the actors needed to remember it was their turn to say their line. It was my children's first theatre visit and they left pretty bord unfortunately. My son said he didn't want to go to the theatre again. Luckily we have been to many others and he loves it now. Was a shame this could have put him off. As much as I hate to give a poor review, as I appreciate the hard work which goes in to theatre, I have to be fair and say there are far superior performances out there.

The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe currently runs within the Gillian Lynne Theatre. We went with some friends and our kids (7-8 year olds). This was a pretty slow acted but quite fast paced story - if that makes sense. Basically there was never really any time given for character development, there were so many heroes, and you never felt like you cared for any of them, if they lived, died, etc, the story just seemed to be rushed to make sure that you get through it all in allocated time. Kids felt a little bored, there wasn't really a strong enough stage performance to get them engaged. The place was packed with families and the sound of popcorn and other snacks often took over from the performance. Go if you really like the story, have nothing else to do and manage to get rush discounted tickets.
