(Translated by Google) Given the reviews we wanted to try this restaurant, the food was good but not extraordinary for my husband, my fish and chips were a little greasy, I almost left my plate. I have eaten better and cheaper in other restaurants. Our server was unsmiling and seemed jaded by our very average level of English. It was our wedding anniversary, I'm unfortunately a little disappointed.

I had the venison and wish I was still eating it. Our first taste of haggis was so tasty! Try the bon bons if you want to start small.

In the 5 nights I was in Edinburgh, I ate here twice. First night was the venison, sticky pudding and plenty of gin and tonics. Second night, beer, pork belly starter, burger with black pudding, and the chocolate mousse. Both meals were some of the most memorable and delicious of my entire European travels. Every dish is unique and thoughtful. Do yourself a favor and make this a stop on your trip! The staff will make you feel like you’ve ate here before and there is an amazing sense of community throughout. Terry, Amy, Cara and Andrew are tops and made this solo traveler feel at home in a foreign land♥️
