I have been experiencing hair thinning for about nine months, which worried me as I am only 23 years old. I decided to book an appointment with Stephen, as my GP could not identify what was causing the problem, and at that point, I felt desperate to find a solution to my hair thinning. After noticing more hair shed than normal over the last couple of months, and after having tried natural shampoo's and hair gummies to no avail, I submitted an enquiry with Stephen, after reading his glowing reviews. From initial enquiry (Wed 16th Dec 2021), right up until after my appointment (Thurs 23rd Dec 2021), Stephen was attentive, reassuring and full of knowledge. My initial enquiry was responded to with a phone call, almost immediately, in which we arranged an appointment for the week after - being so close to Christmas, this was a brilliant turn around time. A follow up email was sent with clear instructions for the day of my appointment and in the lead up to it, including hair washing, nail varnishes, logging typical food intake and listing any stress factors - highly recommend following these instructions so Stephen can get a full picture on what may be going on. Stephen was in constant communication with me in the run up to my appointment, which was encouraging to say the least. When I turned up to my appointment, Stephen met me in the car park, mask on, took my temperature and sanitised my hands - great COVID safe practises. He was friendly and professional and as soon as we reached his consultation room, he wasted no time in asking me all the important questions. We chatted about all sorts, including medical history, family, stress and food. He did an examination on my scalp and used his (pretty impressive!) microscopic camera to capture some images of my scalp and hair follicles. After he was finished, he discussed my outcome, referred me to all the right places and recommended treatments. From start to finish, my appointment was fantastic - I cried in utter relief that my issues can be resolved and I am not balding!!! Prior to visiting Stephen, I went to another lady who claimed she was a trichologist. I had a terrible bacterial infection on my scalp, which she did remove from my scalp. However, whenever I used to ask her questions regarding best hair care and hair growth, she would not answer them and did not take me seriously. All she suggested was to apply hair oil to my scalp and that would do the trick to enhance thicker hair; she recommended I purchase hair oil from her. She said it would "nourish the scalp and feed the hair follicles nutrients" But I wanted to visit a qualified trichologist that would fully examine my hair and scalp, and tell me in thorough detail what the state of my hair growth is like. I was fortunate to come across Stephen. He was very polite and very welcoming in my consultation. He examined my hair and scalp, and asked tons of questions to fully understand what could be the reason behind my hair loss. During my consultation, he educated me with a lot of knowledge associated with hair. After my consultation, he reassured me that it is chronic telogen effluvium; I was stress relieved. He gave me a lot of advice on hair care and the right foods to eat. After 2 days, he sent me a report with details on my hair condition and what he would recommend... and I've actually purchased those products!!! Even after my consultation with him, he's still available to answer any questions I have for him regarding hair growth. Hopefully when I visit him in 6 months time, there is a vast improvement in my hair 🤞🤞🤞🤞 (I'm definitely sticking to Stephen - he will take you seriously and never ignore your questions) Thank you Stephen. Because of lockdown, I was unable to visit the clinic in person, but instead had a zoom call with Stephen. I sent some photos to him the day before and prepared the answers to some questions. The consultation lasted an hour during which time Stephen was able to give me some answers as to why my hair has been falling out. He also gave me lots of tips and fact on how to look after my hair, on how to keep up good eating habits and how to best deal with my hair loss problem. It was so interesting and such an eye opener! I felt so much happier and so relieved after the consultation and would definitely recommend anyone worried about their hair loss to speak to Stephen, he’s brilliant!! Also, the Zoom consultation worked really well and I would recommend this option to anyone looking for answers to their hair loss during lockdown.

Some time after hitting 40 I had a recurring feeling that something was changing with my hair. I was losing volume, my hair seemed finer and my scalp was tender. When you are living with your hair day to day it's not always easy to identify a change. It creeps up on you. I met with Steve, and after doing a full, thorough assessment he felt that my symptoms required referral to a dermatologist. This was because the diagnosis for the condition he suspected required scalp biopsies. He was right, and the prognosis for my hair without medical treatment was very poor. I am now under the care of the dermatologist on 4-6 monthly reviews and on several medications in order to preserve the hair I have. Had I not seen Steve when I did I would likely have lost all my hair. Although I need to take the medication to treat the condition, I continue to see Steve for advice on help with the symptoms and maintaining the hair I have. He recommended I try Philip Kingsley products which I buy from his website, the itchy/flakey scalp shampoo really helps the symptoms and the body building conditioner and elasticiser keep it in good condition. I can't thank Steve enough for helping me. I would highly recommend anyone with any concerns about their hair or scalp to seek His help sooner rather than later. Time really does make a difference.

I first sought the advice of Stephen, the trichologist at Trichcological, in the lead up to my wedding. Following the sudden death of my father in the year before my hair had begun to thin and I had suffered hair loss in places. I had noticed my pony tail becoming thinner and less voluminous. Stephen was wonderful, showing compassion and professionalism, he quickly diagnosed my problems and suggested treatments, dietary changes and supplements to encourage my hair growth and get it looking it's best for my wedding. Which it did! I was so happy with my hair compared to how I felt previously, nothing is a 'quick fix' and my hair is still improving now day on day. He has also helped me with dry/itchy scalp problems. As well as treatment with Stephen I have also used some of the products he sells by Philip Kingsley, the Elasticizer was by far my favorite, offering a deep conditioning treatment without weighing your hair down or compromising the volume of your hair. Personally, I have no problems writing this review as I can speak openly about my hair issues, but for those of you who don't, please don't suffer in silence, the whole process is handled with great confidentiality in a very private setting. I suffered from a badly inflamed and itchy scalp for over 10 years. Nothing I tried, either from the doctor or the pharmacist, made much difference. The problem remained as bad as every. The trichologist (Stephen) diagnosed folliculitis and recommended some shampoo products that really helped. Since following Stephen’s advice, my condition has greatly improved and my scalp is now much better.
