FAQ

What is the process for becoming a foster parent with your agency?

To become a foster parent with our agency, you must first attend an information session to learn about the process and requirements. Then, you will need to complete an application, undergo a background check, attend training, and participate in a home study. After completing these steps, you will be considered for placement of a child in your care.

What qualifications do your caregivers possess?

Our caregivers are required to have a high school diploma or equivalent, pass a background check, and complete training specific to the type of care they will be providing. Many of our caregivers also have experience in the healthcare or social work fields.

What type of training and support do you offer to foster parents?

We offer a variety of training courses to our foster parents, including classes on parenting skills, trauma-informed care, and therapeutic techniques. Additionally, we provide ongoing support through case management services, access to support groups, and assistance with navigating the child welfare system.

How are placements made and how is the matching process conducted?

Placements are made based on a variety of factors, including the needs of the child and the availability of foster homes. We strive to make the best possible match between the child and the foster parent, taking into account factors such as cultural background, language, and personality traits.

What is the ratio of caregivers to clients in your facility?

We do not operate a facility, but rather provide in-home care services. The ratio of caregivers to clients varies depending on the needs of the client and the level of care required. We strive to provide the appropriate level of staffing to ensure that each client receives the highest quality of care possible.

At first I joined this agency for short calls when it was part of Christie’s care agency who had a decent reputation going by reviews but then it went to Walfinch Anika care with the same manager and staff. Honestly it’s not a good care agency due to very poor management. At the beginning there was one good care worker but she had to find another job due to lack of work, after that the care got worse as staff were either very unprofessional or new to care and we was training them to help support my PA’s which is not our job to do as all staff should have mandatory manual handling skills. I tried to work with the manager but he did absolutely nothing so it never improved, just slowly got worse as more staff left. The manager gave short notice when dropping calls constantly due to lack of staff. Also I was constantly correcting the invoices as they couldn’t keep track of short calls that were cancelled so I’d get over charged a lot. Then they wanted to charge even more money for a really bad service so please if you read this review look for another agency to save yourself stress. The management are just trying to make fast money with no care for staff or clients.

Since last few weeks I had been experiencing care service provided to my wife (who is suffering from mixed Dementia) by Christie's Care Solihull. I am pleased to state that we are enjoying a great tranquility and warm security while living with this dreadful disease, after experiencing several service providers; this happening is a big difference in our daily life. At this juncture we (as a family of my patient wife) are of the opinion that, Christies Care Solihull have managed to provide care not as a business proposition, rather care with family feeling , is an essential for sustaining cognition and tranquility vs calmness to the patient with Dementia, without that component sufferings for patients with Dementia goes downhill rapidly. I am left to narrate this type of care with empathy must be encouraged throughout the sphere of "Care vs Care provider vs care recipient: " Last but not the least my thanks and gratitude to the manager who invests time to supervise the carer personally time to time. we would like to say big thanks to the carer specially Lee
