FAQ

What is your teaching style and approach to helping new divers learn and improve their skills?

At Worcester Divers, we believe in a personalized approach to teaching and learning. We tailor our teaching style to meet each individual's needs and learning pace. We focus on ensuring that our students not only learn the skills necessary to dive safely but also develop a passion for diving that will last a lifetime. Our instructors are patient, supportive, and experienced, and we work closely with our students to help them build their confidence and skillset.

What kind of equipment do you provide for your students and how often do you maintain and update it?

We provide all the necessary diving equipment for our students, including wetsuits, fins, masks, and tanks. Our equipment is regularly inspected, maintained, and updated to ensure the safety and comfort of our students. We have a team of experienced equipment technicians who check each piece of equipment before and after every dive to ensure its functionality.

What is the cost of your instruction and what is included in that cost?

Our instruction cost varies depending on the level of instruction and the number of dives required. We offer competitive pricing, and our fees include all the necessary equipment and materials required for the course. We also provide a certification card upon completion of the course.

How do you ensure diver safety during dives?

Safety is our top priority at Worcester Divers. Before each dive, we conduct a thorough safety briefing to ensure that our students understand the risks and safety protocols. We also require our students to be certified divers and to have the necessary experience and training before embarking on any dives. Our instructors are highly trained in emergency procedures, and we always dive with a buddy system to ensure that our students are safe and secure underwater.

Can you provide references from previous customers?

Absolutely. We have many satisfied customers who have completed our courses and have gone on to enjoy successful diving careers. We are happy to provide references upon request and encourage potential students to read our reviews and testimonials to get a better sense of our teaching style and approach.

Octopush (underwater hockey) may be a niche sport, but it's great fun for all ages and a fantastic way to get and stay fit. A great bunch of people, and the pool we use is ideal for the game. Play is fast, competitive but always friendly. Organisation by Paul is top notch. Highly recommended if you want to try something a bit different in a friendly and welcoming environment

I joined to play Octopush (Underwater hockey) 18 months ago, this club is amazing. Superb organisation, great value and very welcoming. As a newbie I have been supported all the way by everyone but especially by Paul the Octopush Captain who took time out to teach me all the basics. The club provided all the equipment I needed to get going until later on when I knew this was the sport for me and I purchased my own. These are the nicest friendliest group of people I have met in a long time. Paul’s communication and organisation is outstanding. The sessions including the annual membership are great value for money. I truly love my sessions in the pool on a Thursday evening, it’s excellent all round fitness as well as enjoyment, I only wish we could play more often. I would highly recommend this club to anyone looking to play Octopush.

Proud to be part of this club. A great bunch of people and fun to be involved. A shame to see the odd negative comment. It takes a bit of effort and a while to get to know folk but once you’re in, nothing to dislike. Relaxed dive trips without excessive rules and a thriving Octopush group in a great pool to keep the fitness up.

I joined here in early 2019 and even after COVID restrictions ended I have still not qualified after doing all the exams and water training. I am now told I am no longer a member even though I have emailed and called several times to either be fobbed off with an excuse that no trainers are available or to be ignored with no response. Then you get constant emails about all the boat trips they are going on but trainers can’t go. Funny how they have everyone qualified available for the trips. Quick enough to take your money and then nothing. Stay well clear and spend your money with a club that are interested in your goal and not just to take your money. Disgusting behaviour.

I joined Worcester Divers and had been attending every Thursday evening for an hour session in the pool. I had lessons from 4 different instructors (not all were actually qualified) and I attended 13 weeks in a row and was told after the 6th lesson I had completed the pool sessions and just needed to have a session with a dry suit which was not arranged until week 19. I finished the 6 hours of theory and was told the exam would be in a few week time but there never was an exam. One week I was told to bring my dry suit to the next session but when I turned up there was no sign of the instructor so I had no training and was left to swim around with another student with no supervision as the other instructor was giving a try dive. The reason I chose BSAC was because it was cheaper than PADI so I could put the money saved towards equipment. However, as I am not local to Worcester and after travelling back and forth for the passed 23 weeks and working out the cost of fuel and pool entry fees, I have ended up spending more than a PADI course and I am still not finished. After speaking to 4 other members I am not the only person who thinks the club is too relaxed and very slow at getting us through the course. A local diver has spoke to me who says he completed his PADI course in just 9 weeks so looking back I feel I made a big mistake going down the BSAC route as I got to 23 weeks and I still have a few weeks more to complete the course. I also spoke to another BSAC club and they informed me that 2 of their club members left Worcester because of the same reason. I have now got to the point where I am bored and so fed up I have decided to give up diving all because of Worcester Divers. Definitely do NOT recommend this club.

This is a very friendly and welcoming club that offers all forms of Scuba Diving Training plus great trips away around the coast of the UK and abroad. Plus you can join as a family or individually. Learn to swim , snorkel and play Under Water Hockey commonly known as Octopush. They meet at Perdiswell Leisure Centre Pool in reception every Thursday night at about 8.00pm on wards. Contact via the website or just pop along and have a chat. New members always welcome. I joined and have never looked back and I'm keeping myself fit at the same time bonus.
